The 2019 SPA AGM will be held on October 25, 2019 in Weyburn prior to the SPA Provincial Championship. The meeting will begin at 8:30pm and will be held at the venue, Knox Hall, located at 136 2nd St NE.  

Proposed Changes to the Constitution:

Proposals for constitutional changes must be submitted to Amy Morris at amydee.smith306@gmail.com by the end of the day on Monday, September 30.  Resolutions must be submitted using the following format:

The SPA Executive will review all submitted items and the agenda will be sent to all members in mid October.  

Executive Elections:

There are also 3 executive positions up for election this year.  The positions which will be up for election this year are Secretary, Records and Social Media.  Interested individuals should express their interest in running to Ryan Fowler at saskpowerlifting@gmail.ca by the end of the day on Monday, September 30.  Nominations will also be accepted from the floor.

Applications for Hosting a Meet:

The deadline for application for hosting a meet in 2020 is October 15.

Please submit the bid to host form to Ryan Fowler at saskpowerlifting@gmail.com by October 15 if you are interested in hosting a competition in 2020. Bids are also being accepted for the 2020 Provincial Championship at this same time.

Registration for the Saskatchewan Powerlifting Association Provincial Championships on October 25th-27th, 2019 is now open! This event is open to any SPA member who has competed in a previous competition and recorded a total in that competition; Provincials is not open to anyone as their first competition. Entries are being accepted until September 20th, 2019.

Dan has competed in powerlifting for many years in the province, country and the world. In 2004, Dan benched a huge 287.5kg at Bench Worlds, placing fifth and setting the provincial and national record. The provincial record would stand until the records were retired with the new weight classes in 2011. Dan competed at CPU nationals many times over the years and earned many medals, with a good collection of golds in bench only. He is and was an excellent advocate for the sport.

Registration for Rise Strength Lab Summer Open on August 10th, 2019 is now open! ⁣⁣This meet will serve as a last chance qualifier for CPU Westerns and to meet the requirements for SPA Provincials. Entries are being accepted until July 31st, 2019 for 28 3-lift and 14 bench only lifters.

Please note: You must meet the all requirements to be eligible to lift at CPU Western Championships. Only paid entries will be considered confirmed.
